Abstract Guidelines
ACAR2013 invites all interested individuals to participate in scientific sessions and scientific exhibitions. Abstract presenter will have the following benefits :
  1. Accepted abstracts will be printed in the abstract book.
  2. Accepted abstracts will be presented as lecture or during poster sessions.
  3. Accepted abstracts will be published in Biomedical Imaging and Intervention Journal (biij).
  4. Accepted as a lecture will receive 50% discount on registration (refund in congress registration counter only).
  5. The winner of the abstract contest (Best Oral Presentation/ Best Scientific Exhibition / Young Investigators’) will win a prize.
Important Dates
  • Abstract submission deadline is Friday, November 30, 2012.
  • Acceptance notification will be provided by January 15, 2013.
Forms of Presentation
  • Scientific Sessions are for oral presentations.
  • Scientific Exhibition is for scientific posters and educational posters, which will be displayed on computer or on poster panels.
Abstracts should involve the following disciplines
Upper GI
Lower GI
Mesentery and peritoneum
Kidney, Ureter and bladder
Testis and male genitalia
Adrenal and retroperitoneum
Abstract Submission Guideline
ACAR2013 invites all interested individuals to submit abstracts for the Scientific Sessions and Scientific Exhibition. Participants are kindly requested to submit abstracts in English only. Authors will be notified of the method of presentation (oral or poster). The deadline for abstract submission is November 30, 2012 and acceptance notification will be sent by January 15, 2013.
  1. All abstracts must be submitted via the congress website ONLY.
  2. When you submit your abstract online, please follow the ACAR2013 submission formats. It is the authors’ responsibility to review the submissions and correct them. Submitters are responsible for all typing error on the abstract.
  3. Abstracts for the scientific sessions and scientific exhibition are limited to 2,500 characters including spaces.
  4. An acknowledgement of the receipt of abstract will be automatically sent to the submitter and the presenting author by e-mail upon the on-line submission.
  5. Upon acceptance of the abstract, presenting authors are expected to register and to present their abstracts at scientific sessions or scientific exhibition. Abstracts will be published in the congress abstract book only if the presenting author is registered with full payment by January 31, 2013.
  6. Only up to 6 authors including a presenting author will be listed on the abstract book.
  7. If on-line submission is not available, please contact the Congress Secretariat by email.
ACAR2013 offers a variety of opportunities for professionals to be internationally recognized for their achievements. Applications for Best Oral Presentation Awards, Best Scientific Exhibition Awards, Young Investigators’ Awards will be accepted before September 30, 2012, and only via the congress website ONLY.
Scientific Awards
Scientific Awards consist of the Best Oral Presentation Awards and Best Scientific Exhibition Awards. Abstracts submitted by registrants are generally eligible for a range of generous prizes offered by ACAR2013. These awards will be presented to individuals, without an age limit, on the basis of the quality of the scientific contest.
Young Investigator’s Awards
Prize US$1,500 will be award to selected young professionals under the age of 40 (born after March 1, 1973) to encourage and support their attendance at ACAR2013. This will be awarded to applicants who submit outstanding abstracts and present at the scientific session and scientific exhibition.
Judgment criteria will be based on:
  1. Scientific content.
  2. Structure of the abstract.
  3. Presentation.
  4. Ability to defend the paper/results during the question time from the audience.
  1. Content of the abstract must be original work and unpublished.
  2. The applicants are required to upload their CV, recommendation letter, clear copy of passport indicating date of birth after submitting the abstracts via the congress website.
  3. The name of the presenting author MUST match the name of the applicant.
  4. The full paper MUST be provided for ACAR2013 Award eligibility.
